Chelsea has completed the signing of another talented player

The Chelsea football club has been active in the market this January to strengthen their team to remain competitive at the highest level. Some talented players have joined the Stamford Bridge side due to this project.

Chelsea brought in Wesley Fofana, 21 years; Marc Cucurella, 24 years and Raheem Sterling, 27 years for £72.36m, £58.77m and £50.58m respectively. Kalidou Koulibaly (31) from SSC Napoli for £34.20m, Carney Chukwemeka (18) from Aston Villa for £16.20m, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (33) from Barcelona for £10.80m, Gabriel Slonina (18) from Chicago for £8.18m, and Dennis Zakaria (on loan) from Juventus were also acquired by Chelsea.

However, Mykhailo Mudryk has signed a personal contract with Chelsea and completed his transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The 22-year-old international player from Ukraine, signed an eight-and-a-half-year deal with the Blues to complete his transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Who is Mudryk?

Mudryk, a talented and speedy player, has swiftly established a reputation as one of Europe’s most dangerous attacking players in one-on-one scenarios. He is mostly a wide player who has played on both flanks for Shakhtar Donetsk, although many of his best games were when he cut in from the left onto his preferred right foot.

His 18 goal involvements in as many games in all competitions this season, including three goals and two assists in the Champions League group stage, highlight the menace he poses in the final third.

After a few senior outings and loans to fellow Ukrainian Premier League teams Arsenal Kyiv and Desna Chernigiv, Mudryk joined the Shakhtar Donetsk academy in 2016. Over the course of the 2021–2022 season, he made his first-team debut with two goals and seven assists in 11 league games.

Mudryk received eight caps since making his international debut in Ukraine’s victory over Scotland in the FIFA World Cup qualification play-offs in June because of his club performance, which won him a spot in the senior squad last year.

These were his words after joining Chelsea.

‘‘I’m so happy to sign for Chelsea, This is a huge club, in a fantastic league and it is a very attractive project for me at this stage of my career. I’m excited to meet my new team-mates and I’m looking forward to working and learning under Graham Potter and his staff.’’
